High School/Middle School Student Watch Recognition
Each year, Michaels Jewelers presents over 200 Michaels watches to middle school eighth graders and high school juniors who are recognized for good citizenship and their contribution to student life. The school's principal and guidance department, with the advice of the faculty, choose the students who receive these watches. Schools interested in participating in this program should contact John A. Michaels at jam@michaelsjewelers.com
Connecticut High School Faculty Watch Recognition Program

Guns For Goods
Several years ago, Michaels Jewelers provided $75,000 worth of merchandise and was the state's leading provider of goods in an exchange program jointly initiated by the Connecticut Retail Merchants Association and the State Attorney General.
Annual Mothers Day Art Contest
Michaels Jewelers sponsors an annual Mothers Day Jewelry Design Contest for 5th Grade Students throughout Connecticut. This past year, over 1,600 students participated.
Students in each class receive a “Designer Certificate” recognizing their efforts, signed by both the teacher and Michaels Jewelers. Within each class, one student is selected as a winner and his/her design is crafted into jewelry, which can be presented to “mom” on Mothers Day. Michaels gives over 60 items created by our student designers!
We at Michaels enjoy sponsoring every one of our community programs, most of which are tied to educational venues. However, none create such enthusiasm and joy than our 5th grade Mothers Day Art Contest. We believe we’ve found an ingenious way to encourage both family values and artistic design to students in their most formidable years.
