Description of the Michaels Jewelers Foundation Scholarship:
$2,000 scholarships will be awarded annually to two freshmen who are Connecticut residents and who participate in intercollegiate athletics. Recipients will receive the scholarship for their undergraduate years if they meet all requirements for continuing eligibility. Special consideration will be given to employees or children of employees of Michaels’ entities or residents of towns where Michaels’ stores are located. A committee from the Department of Athletics will select recipients. The University of Connecticut and the UCONN Athletic Development Fund administer the scholarship.
